PAS DE LA DEMI-LUNE (2024)

For sine tones, bluetooth transducers, metal bowls and trays, organ pipes, bells

James Tenney's algorithms for crystal growth in harmonic space were utilised in the generative composition for the sine tones written in supercollider. The score for the organ pipes was written afterwards, after a pitch analysis of the sine tone composition. The piece was recorded in Les Calanques, a rock formation along the coastline of Marseille, France.
It was originally composed for a Lughnasa celebration organised by Phélim ó Laoghaire, and performed in a river crossing to the Brennanstown Dolmen, a pre-christian portal tomb dated between 4000-2500BC, located in Dublin, Ireland.

The piece is scheduled for release Spring 2026
Recorded by Lugh O'Neill
