‘Duo for Breath (for voice and trombone)’ is a work composed site-specifically by Dylan Kerr for the Fichtebunker, performed by Dylan Kerr (voice) and Weston Olencki (trombone). Building on Kerr’s “Solo for Breath”, the piece explores breath’s timbral and spectral qualities through extended techniques. The work moves between unpitched sounds and moments of consonance, incorporating overtone singing, trombone multiphonics and psychoacoustic phenomena. Performers move through the space during the work, activating the bunker’s resonant frequencies and allowing its unique acoustics to shape the sound.
